Microsoft has released cumulative update KB5073097 (Build 28020.1371) for Windows 11 version 26H1. This update is available to insiders on the Canary channel and represents a small set of general improvements and fixes aimed at improving system stability and quality of work.

• Start menu. Fixed an issue where selecting an item inside a pinned shortcuts folder in the Start menu could cause the entire folder to become invisible in the menu.
• File Explorer. Fixed a bug where for some insiders, File Explorer caused brief "white flashes" when navigating between pages (in dark theme) after installing the previous build.
• Input. Fixed an issue where the keyboard character repeat delay parameter in Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Keyboard worked opposite to the set value.
• Other. Fixed an internal issue that could cause the PC to freeze when trying to run Windows Terminal with elevated privileges from an account without administrator rights. Also fixed a bug where the Share dialog could unexpectedly show an option to send to Shell Experience Host.

Known issues: a new issue — the watermark on the desktop shows the wrong build number.

Installation via Windows Update Center: go to Settings > Windows Update and click Check for updates. A system reboot is required to complete the installation. How the new features work:

Start menu folder visibility fix: Fixed a bug in XAML tree processing for pinned shortcuts folder. Clicking an item inside the folder incorrectly set Visibility.Collapsed on the folder container. Navigation no longer resets the parent container's IsOpen property, preserving folder visibility.

File Explorer dark theme flash fix: Fixed dark theme window composition issue. Page navigation caused UISettings.ColorValues to temporarily revert to light theme background. Now ApplicationTheme switches without intermediate state, preventing white flashes caused by default HWND background before brush application.

Keyboard repeat delay logic fix: Fixed inverted logic in KeyRepeatDelay handler from HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Keyboard. Previously, lower GUI value increased real delay. Now SystemParametersInfo with SPI_GETKEYBOARDDELAY flag correctly synchronizes with the Settings slider.

Terminal elevation deadlock fix and Share dialog fix: Fixed deadlock when launching Windows Terminal with elevated access request from non-admin account. IsUserAnAdmin() now correctly rejects attempts without freezing ConPTY. Also fixed Share dialog incorrect entry fix erroneously showing Shell Experience Host entry due to incorrect AppUserModelId.
