Windows 11 Insider Preview build 28020.1673 is a build belonging to the br_release development branch, now available to Windows Insider program participants on the Canary channel. Emoji 16.0 Support Emoji Panel (Win + .) Open the emoji panel by pressing Win + . (period). The new Emoji 16.0 characters are automatically available in the panel. No additional configuration is required.
Backup and Restore (First-run restore for organizations) Windows Backup / Microsoft Entra hybrid joined devices / Cloud PCs This feature is automatic during first sign-in on supported devices. To manage it, administrators can configure Windows Backup policies via Intune or Group Policy. End users do not need to change settings manually.
Quick Machine Recovery (QMR) Settings > System > Recovery On managed enterprise Windows Pro and non-domain-joined Pro devices, QMR is enabled automatically. For domain-joined devices, administrators must enable it manually via Group Policy or Intune. End users can check status under Settings > System > Recovery.
Network Speed Test Taskbar > Quick Settings / System Tray network icon context menu Click the network icon in the system tray or open Quick Settings. Select the network speed test option. The test opens in your default browser and checks Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and cellular connections.
Microsoft Account Benefits Page Start menu > Account manager Open the Start menu and click on your account name or picture. Select the new item for Microsoft account benefits to manage subscriptions and rewards.
Camera Pan and Tilt Controls Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Cameras Open Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Cameras. Select your supported camera. Use the new pan and tilt controls to adjust the camera view.
Widgets Settings Full-Screen Mode Widgets app Open the Widgets app. Click the settings icon. Settings now open in full-screen mode inside the app instead of a pop-up window.
Taskbar Search Group Headers Taskbar > Search Click the search box on the taskbar. Group result headers now display the number of items found. Use the "Preview" button on a result to preview it without opening the file or application.
RSAT on Arm64 Settings > System > Optional features Open Settings > System > Optional features. Click "Add an optional feature" and search for RSAT tools (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, Server Manager, etc.). Alternatively, use "Turn Windows features on or off" in Control Panel.
File Explorer Dark Mode File Explorer > Folder Options Open File Explorer. Go to View > Options to open Folder Options. The dialog now appears with a consistent dark theme when dark mode is enabled. Fixed issue: File Explorer windows no longer unexpectedly switch to "Desktop" or "Home".
Wheel Settings Reliability Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Wheel Open Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Wheel. Adjust parameters for your connected wheel device. Improved reliability of these settings in this release.
Nearby Sharing Reliability Settings > System > Nearby sharing Open Settings > System > Nearby sharing. Ensure Nearby sharing is enabled. Sending large files is now more reliable. No additional configuration needed.
