Microsoft released cumulative update KB5078883 for Windows 11, version 23H2 (2023 Update) as part of Patch Tuesday (March 2026). The cumulative update package KB5078883 (Build 22631.6783) is intended for Windows 11, version 23H2 (Windows 11 2023 Update) based on x64 (amd64) and ARM64 processors for Enterprise and Education editions.

The update includes security fixes as well as quality improvements from update KB5075941, released on February 10, 2026. It contains various security improvements for internal OS functions for March 2026. As part of Patch Tuesday (March 2026), Microsoft fixed 79 security issues, including two publicly disclosed zero-day vulnerabilities.

If previous updates are already installed on the device, the system will download and install only the new fixes included in the KB5078883 package. Secure Boot PowerShell (Administrator) To view Secure Boot keys and certificates in a human-readable format, run Get-SecureBootUEFI -Decoded in PowerShell. To check the Secure Boot version number (SVN) for UEFI firmware and bootloader, run Get-SecureBootSVN. New certificates are installed automatically via Windows quality updates after sufficient successful update signals are recorded.
File History Control Panel > System and Security > File History Open File History in Control Panel and select a drive to back up files. The improved reliability now correctly backs up files with Chinese characters and Private Use Area characters in their names without additional configuration.
Graphics Settings > System > Display > Graphics No manual change is required. Stability improvements apply automatically on supported GPU configurations. Ensure you have the latest Windows updates installed to benefit from improved shutdown behavior and stability under intensive loads.
Text and Fonts Settings > Personalization > Fonts The updated system fonts include the new Saudi riyal currency symbol automatically. No user action is required; applications and the system interface will display the currency correctly after the update.
Windows System Image Manager Windows System Image Manager (Windows ADK) When selecting trusted catalog files, a warning dialog box appears. Confirm that the selected file comes from a trusted source before proceeding. The reliability improvement is automatic.
