Find and Change Settings

Setting Where to find How to change
Shared Audio Listening Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Devices To broadcast sound to two pairs of Bluetooth LE Audio headphones simultaneously, pair both devices in Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Devices. Start playing audio and select both headphones as output devices from the quick settings volume flyout. To stop shared listening, disconnect one of the headphones or switch to a single output device.
Xbox Mode Press Windows + F11 To activate Xbox Mode, press the Windows + F11 key combination. This launches a simplified full-screen interface for laptops, desktop PCs, and tablets. To exit Xbox Mode, press Windows + F11 again or use the close button in the interface.
Archive Support in File Explorer File Explorer > Right-click archive file To access uu, cpio, xar, or NuGet (nupkg) archives, open File Explorer and navigate to the archive file. Double-click or right-click the file and select Extract All. To disable built-in archive support, install a third-party archiving tool and set it as the default handler for these formats.
Haptic Feedback for Pens Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Pen & Windows Ink To enable or disable haptic feedback on compatible pens (Surface Slim Pen 2, ASUS Pen 3.0, MSI Pen 2), open Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Pen & Windows Ink and toggle the tactile response setting. Haptic feedback triggers when aligning objects and snapping windows. Turn the option off to disable it.
Updated Voice Typing Settings > Time & language > Language & region > Keyboard To use the updated voice typing interface, tap the microphone key on the touch keyboard. To add the Arabic 101 Legacy layout, open Settings > Time & language > Language & region > Keyboard and add the layout under Arabic keyboard options. To switch layouts, use the language bar or keyboard shortcut.
Agent Tracking on the Taskbar Taskbar (automatic appearance) Agent tracking is activated automatically when using Researcher in Microsoft 365 Copilot. The mechanism displays activity indicators on the taskbar. To manage taskbar visibility, right-click the taskbar, select Taskbar settings, and adjust Copilot-related options. No manual activation is required for the tracking itself.
Driver Security Policy Tightening Settings > Windows Update > Advanced options > Optional updates Trust for cross-signed drivers is now disabled by default. Only Windows Hardware Compatibility Program certified drivers and those on the trusted legacy list are allowed. To check driver status, open Settings > Windows Update > Advanced options > Optional updates and review available driver updates. To manage this policy via registry, adjust the cross-signing settings under HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Driver Signing.
Protected Batch File Mode Registry Editor: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager To enable protected batch file mode, open Registry Editor and navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager. Set the LockBatchFilesWhenInUse parameter to 1. To disable the mode, set the parameter to 0 or delete the registry value. A system restart is required for changes to take effect.
Increased FAT32 Limit Command Prompt or PowerShell To format a drive as FAT32 with the new 2 TB limit, open Command Prompt or PowerShell as administrator and use the format command: format [drive letter]: /FS:FAT32. For example: format D: /FS:FAT32. The previous 32 GB limit is now removed. Ensure the target volume is not larger than 2 TB.
Startup App Launch Acceleration Settings > Apps > Startup To manage startup apps with the new optimized launch, open Settings > Apps > Startup and toggle each application on or off. The acceleration is automatic and requires no additional configuration. To see the optimization effect, toggle an app on and restart the system.
Windows Hello Improvements Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options To set up or adjust Windows Hello facial recognition, open Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options and configure Windows Hello Face. Fingerprint data is now preserved during system updates automatically. To reset or retrain facial recognition, click Remove and then Set up again under Windows Hello Face.
Delivery Optimization Optimization Settings > Windows Update > Advanced options > Delivery Optimization To manage Delivery Optimization settings and benefit from improved RAM usage, open Settings > Windows Update > Advanced options > Delivery Optimization. Toggle Allow downloads from other PCs on or off. The service optimization is applied automatically. To limit bandwidth, select Advanced options and configure download and upload settings.
Secure Boot Certificates Group Policy Editor: Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > System > Secure Boot To manage the expanded certificate deployment, open Group Policy Editor and navigate to Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > System > Secure Boot. Use the LimitSecureBootRequiredServiceData policy to restrict transmitted service data. Set it to Enabled to limit data, Disabled or Not Configured to allow full data transmission.
BitLocker Reliability Settings > Privacy & security > Device encryption To turn on or off BitLocker drive encryption with improved reliability, open Settings > Privacy & security > Device encryption and toggle the setting. The stability improvements are applied automatically. For advanced BitLocker settings, open Control Panel > System and Security > BitLocker Drive Encryption.
